Though this is great for Halloween, it makes for a delicious winter cocktail any day. Orange liqueur and ginger beer (not ginger ale) take on a whole new taste when sipped through the spicy sugar rim. We’ve used our preferred Clement Creole Shrubb, a rum and orange liqueur, but you could substitute orange curacao. For the ginger beer we recommend Fever-Tree, or another high quality product.

[five-star-rating]

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Clement Creole Shrubb
  • Fever-Tree ginger beer
  • 1/4 cup Turbinado or brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon allspice
  • Orange slice

Instructions

  1. Mix the sugar, cinnamon and allspice (store any extra in a cool dry place)
  2. Run the orange round the rim of the glass to dampen it, then dip the glass in the sugar mix. Shake off excess
  3. Chill the Shrubb over ice then pour into the glasses
  4. Top with the ginger beer
