The Juliet and Romeo

Apparently named for the cucumber and rose aspects of the cocktail, the Juliet and Romeo is a rather surprisingly pleasing mix of gin, lime, mint, cucumber and rosewater.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz gin
  • 3/4 oz lime juice
  • 3/4 oz simple syrup
  • 6 mint sprigs
  • 3 slices peeled cucumber
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 drops of rosewater
  • 3 drops Angostura bitters

Instructions

  1. In a mixing glass or shaker, muddle the cucumber with the salt
  2. Add ice and all other ingredients
  3. Shake for 15 seconds to release the oils in the mint
  4. Serve up, garnished with a single floating mint leaf into which you add another drop of rosewater
