A potent martini, this recipe combines gin, maraschino liqueur, Fernet Branca and both Peychaud’s and Angostura. Not for the faint of heart, you might prefer the cocktail with a higher ratio of the sweet maraschino spirit to the bitter and aromatic Fernet.

  • 1 part gin
  • 1 part Fernet Branca
  • 1 part maraschino liqueur
  • 2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters


  1. Shake or stir all ingredients over ice
  2. Strain into a cocktail glass
  3. Garnish with a cherry
