My version of the Spanish Main cocktail using dark rum, Licor 43 Spanish liqueur and a syrup of India tea, cinnamon and cloves.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Licor 43
  • 1 oz Pusser’s Navy Rum
  • 1/2 oz tea syrup
  • For syrup:
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 black tea (India tea) bag
  • 2 small sticks cinnamon
  • 2 cloves

Instructions

  1. To make the syrup:
  2. Add all ingredients to a small saucepan and bring to a very slow simmer
  3. Continue to simmer for 10 mins, stirring occasionally
  4. Let cool and refrigerate
  5. To make the cocktail:
  6. In a rocks glass with ice, add the Licor 43, Pusser’s and syrup
  7. Stir, sip and savor
