Lady Macbeth

Port and champagne. Not a new combination but I thought this cocktail would replicate drops of blood or some such thing (remember the “Out, damn spot” scene?) but no such luck.

Ingredients

  • 4 oz chilled sparkling wine
  • 2 oz ruby port (preferably wood-aged)
  • Lemon twist

Instructions

  1. Pour the champagne into a flute glass
  2. Slowly add the port but do not stir
  3. Add the lemon twist
  4. Wring your hands before drinking
