Port and champagne. Not a new combination but I thought this cocktail would replicate drops of blood or some such thing (remember the “Out, damn spot” scene?) but no such luck.
- 4 oz chilled sparkling wine
- 2 oz ruby port (preferably wood-aged)
- Lemon twist
- Pour the champagne into a flute glass
- Slowly add the port but do not stir
- Add the lemon twist
- Wring your hands before drinking
