Bethany
I’d always wanted to try a Green Vesper which is a Vesper (gin, vodka and kina lillet) with Absinthe instead of kina lillet.
I made this instead with red absinth and called it a Bloody Vesper. It wasn’t bad but I thought I could improve it.
The next day, I added some citrus flavours to make a very tasty, but insanely alcoholic drink and then I named it after my friend who I made it for.
So here is the Bethany:
Ingredients
- 3 shots of gin
- 1 shot of vodka
- 1/2 shot of absinthe (red in my version, but try green too)
- 2 shots of Cointreau
- Juice of 1/3 lime
- Squeeze of lemon juice and a twist
Instructions
Squeeze the lime and lemon into a martini glass, rinse to cover the whole glass but leave all the juice inside
Mix all the alcoholic ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well
Pour into the glass on top of the citrus.
That’s one powerful drink! (split it in two for a less intense drink)

Wow! Bethany must be quite a lady to inspire such a potent potion. Looking forward to trying it.
