Simple syrup is a bar staple and as easy to make as its name implies.
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- NOTE: I often use organic cane sugar but this will make an amber-colored syrup. For colorless syrup you will need to use regular sugar
- Combine ingredients in a heavy pan over a very low heat and stir ’til the sugar dissolves.
- Remove from heat, let cool, then refrigerate
