Simple Syrup

Simple syrup is a bar staple and as easy to make as its name implies.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • NOTE: I often use organic cane sugar but this will make an amber-colored syrup. For colorless syrup you will need to use regular sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients in a heavy pan over a very low heat and stir ’til the sugar dissolves.
  2. Remove from heat, let cool, then refrigerate
