French 75
A classic from Harry’s New York Bar in Paris, back in 1915. Someone once commented that drinking this was “like being shelled with a French 75mm howitzer”.

Ingredients
- 3/4 oz gin
- 1/2 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/2 shot of simple syrup
- Dry champagne
- Cherry garnish
Instructions
- Shake the gin, lemon juice and syrup over ice and pour into a chilled champagne flute
- Top with bubbly
- Drop in a cherry
- Watch out for bubbles going up your nose as you drink
