Stirred Not Shaken Martini

The traditional martini is stirred, not shaken. Purists claim that a cocktail shaker dulls the taste of the vermouth. This recipe is a slight twist on the traditional and is sufficient for four martinis.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz gin
  • Dry vermouth

Instructions

  1. Fill a glass martini pitcher with ice, add the gin and stir ’til icy cold
  2. Put a dash of vermouth in each well-chilled martini glass, swirl around to coat the glass then dump any excess.
  3. Strain the gin into the glasses and garnish with an olive (or two or more)
