Stirred Not Shaken Martini
The traditional martini is stirred, not shaken. Purists claim that a cocktail shaker dulls the taste of the vermouth. This recipe is a slight twist on the traditional and is sufficient for four martinis.
- 8 oz gin
- Dry vermouth
- Fill a glass martini pitcher with ice, add the gin and stir ’til icy cold
- Put a dash of vermouth in each well-chilled martini glass, swirl around to coat the glass then dump any excess.
- Strain the gin into the glasses and garnish with an olive (or two or more)
