Hot Gin Punch

Hot Gin Punch

From the (now closed) London nightclub, Ghost, Inc, is this Charles Dickens inspired punch. Best served with a few gingersnaps.

Ingredients

  • 3 teacups gin
  • 3 teacups Madeira
  • 3 cloves
  • Pinch of grated nutmeg
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 tsp brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp honey
  • 6 lg lemon and orange twists
  • 1 slice orange
  • 1 slice pineapple
  • Juice of 2 lemons

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients in a saucepan over a low heat for 30 mins. Do not boil.
  2. After the first 15 or 20 mins you might like to taste test the mixture and adjust the sweet/sour flavors if need be.
  3. Serve in your favorite teapot.

    This takes a little effort but is well worth it. I served it at a recent soiree and it was a big hit, including the use of teapot and cups.
