gin and tonicGin and Tonic

The tonic part of the G and T originally was medicine. Containing quinine it had antimalarial properties and the British in the east were encouraged to drink it. Not surprisingly they didn’t like the taste and added gin to make it more palatable. Today, the humble cocktail is a wonderfully refreshing potion, perfect on a warm summer’s day.
